Painting & Lining; The finishing touch. A good model deserves a good finish, and even a half decent model can be 'lifted' by a good paint job. Here at Golden Arrow, we spray-paint the appropriate base coat, then apply lining, in paint, with a bowpen. We specialize in lining out locomotives, & take particular pleasure in applying some of the more decorative Pre-grouping liveries, SECR Wainwright & LBSC Stroudley being particular favourites. Locomotives, particularly Industrials & those from the late British Railways period can also be expertly & realistically weathered, to represent the typical grime & neglect seen on locos towards the end of their working lives. N.B.   We do lining in 'N' scale ... see image right Weathering Very few locomotives of any era stay clean when in use, particularly during times of war, or in the last years of BR steam, when engines were allowed to get in a deplorable state of filthiness. We can expertly reproduce this condition for you, adding realism using an array of different techniques, from a well-cared for engine with just a little service grime;- (brake-dust, oil & slight sootiness) down to the absolute filth, lime scale & rust common in the twilight of steam, & not forgetting the different kinds of dirt which affected diesels, carriages, wagons etc. Please enquire for further details;- reduced charges apply for 3 or more items treated together. Production Design Services For many years now, we have been involved in the design of kits, both for our own range, & for other manufacturers who lack the necessary 'In house' expertise. We can produce master patterns for resin, white-metal or lost-wax casting. artwork for photo-etching, and can supply exploded construction drawings & instructiton sheets or other technical writing.
